* Hormones-induced post. Consider yourself warned. *
This is so ridiculous. Some people kept asking me, "Hal, what are you still doing there?". I tried to defend my action and dear heavens, i tried to care. But now, even i don't see the point of it anymore. My being there is not even necessary than to add more burden those who actually care and to annoy those who just couldn't give a damn. And at the end of the day, i ended up annoying even myself for trying to please everyone too much. And for that, i selfishly ask myself, "What about me?"
I've said it before, and i'll say it again, even if i have to repeat myself a thousand times, if I am ever asked to choose between friends and family, I would choose my family without a second of hesitation. It is not in my nature to hurt anyone on purpose, but if i have to hurt my friends to make it right with my family, by all means hand me the dagger. Okay so that is to put it too strongly. And don't worry i don't go around stabbing people with knife. But just so you understand, i would go the distance for my family.
Please don't get me wrong, it doesn't mean that i don't love my friends. I do. In fact very much that sometimes it pains me to make decisions. But from my understanding, friends should be someone who respect your values in life, if not swear by the same virtue themselves. I have been very fortunate to have met so many people in my life who understands and shared the same family values as i do. These are the friends who always encourages me to stand by my virtue and based my action on it. However, there people who thinks that i am using it as an excuse to escape from responsibilities. Well, I beg to differ.
Excuses are easy to make, but it left an uneasy feeling in your stomach after you throw it at someone else and the worst part is that the feeling lingers around for a very long time. A decision or solution is often hard to make, as it requires thorough considerations (and sometimes a lot of crying for those hard ones). However, the outcome of this one is a good feeling of satisfaction that you have made the right decision after weighing out all the options.
In my case, I genuinely feel that i have made the right decision. Don't believe me? Just ask those who were unfortunate enough to have seen and heard me at my worst during this time. (I kind of pitied them but hey, that's what friends are for right?=D) I also firmly believe that if you do the right thing, Allah will show that to everyone who ever doubted your decision. And believe me, that is all that matters.
